Rules & Regulations

1. EMERGENCY CONTACTS & PROCEDURES.

A. Critically injured / assisting a critically injured runner

  • (1) Stop a local participant or volunteer and ask them to help you. Call Emergency: 999.
    Ambulance: 997
  • (2) Notify the Race Control Centre
  • (3) Send us your report
    Report all details at earliest available time to email: e@tgr.run
    Nature of injury, name/bib number of runner who assisted you, treatments received at the event and/or local hospital.

B. Non-critical injury / assisting a runner with non-critical injury

  • (1) Check the course map for the nearest CP / First Aid location.
    Make your way to that CP / first aid location for help.
  • (2) Notify Race Control Centre
  • (3) Send us your report
    Report all details of the incident at the earliest available time to email: e@tgr.run
    Nature of injury, name/bib number of runner who assisted you, treatments received at the event and/or local hospital.

2. FIRST AID HQ.

First Aid HQ is located next to the Bag Drop Area for all GreenRace Events. All First Aid Stations are shown on the course map. It’s a requirement for all participants to familiarise themselves with these locations before race day.

3. MANDATORY RACE ITEMS.

All runners have a responsibility to show up prepared for the unexpected on race day. Review all Mandatory Items that must be carried during all GreenRace Events.

Do not call the RD asking whether a mandatory item is mandatory. The participant will have the answer clearly as they ask the question.
Runners found to have not adequately prepared for the event will be disqualified (Eg, missing mandatory items etc).

4. SAFETY FIRST.

Do not risk your own safety or the safety of your trail running compadres by not adhering to Mandatory Items requirements, or by signing up to an event you have not properly trained for. Runners must stop to assist any injured participants:

  • Check with the runner verbally: ‘Are you ok?’
  • Ask the runner their name.
  • Take note of their bib number.
  • Report their name and bib number to the nearest CP, volunteer or contact by emergency phone number.

We highly recommend all participants to run the course at least once prior to race day. 

5. WEATHER CONDITIONS – RACE DAY.

Be prepared for adverse weather. Check the weather forecast the day before the race and morning of.

Entry fees are non refundable in the event of cancellation due to weather.
Race Director reserves final decision based on the local conditions.

6. RACEPACK COLLECTION.

Participants are expected to collect racepacks prior to race day.

  • Additional racepack gifts and extras will be forfeited for those participants not collecting racepacks at least one day before the event.
  • Uncollected race pack extras will be donated to charity and recorded on our HelpHK page.

7. AGE CATEGORIES (ALL GREENRACE’S MALE & FEMALE). *

  1. Teens: 13-17 years
  2. Open: 18-45 years
  3. Veteran: 46+ years

* Eligible category determined by age on race date.

8. AGE RESTRICTIONS.

All GreenRace participants must be at least 18 yrs old as of race date (participants younger than 18 years of age must have written and signed a letter from a parent or guardian.

Family Fun Run Categories

  • Ages from 2 yrs old onwards are permitted.
  • Must be accompanied by at least one parent.

9. BIB TRANSFERS.

Although we do not refund race entries under any circumstances, all entries are fully transferable within the same event up to 72 hours before race start.

  • No full or partial refunds permitted for any category changes, cancellations, or transfers.
  • A fee of SG$20 applies to all change requests.
  • Maximum one transfer per entry is permitted.

10. CATEGORY CHANGES.

  • Solo (individual) downgrades to lower distance categories within the same event are permitted (a fee of SG$20 applies).
  • Solo upgrades to higher distance categories and team categories must pay the difference between the existing fee paid and the current cost of the new category + SG$20.
  • Requests are accepted up to 72 hours prior to event start time.
  • No full or partial refunds permitted for any category changes, cancellations, or transfers.
  • A SG$20 applies to all change requests.
  • Transfers to other GreenRace events are not permitted under any circumstances.

11. COMMON COURTESY.

Yield to all hikers and trail walkers where safe to do so. Please show respect and courtesy to all users of our course route.

12. DISPUTES.

The Race Director has final decision in all disputes. Argumentative or aggressive runners will not be tolerated at GreenRace Events.

13. EXTERNAL SUPPORT NOT PERMITTED.

Outside of checkpoints / water stations, every individual participant and registered team must run self supported. Pace runners are not allowed. Runners are permitted to purchase food and beverages at shops along the course route.

14. KEEP LEFT.

Keep to the left on course route wherever safe to do so. Allow faster runners to pass on the right. Don’t put yourself in the way of faster course traffic and needlessly contribute to course collisions / mishaps. Runners passing will warn by stating “On your right!”

15. LITTERING NOT PERMITTED.

Needless to say, take it with you! Runners found to have littered along the course route, whether intentional or not, will be disqualified.

16. REFUNDS NOT PERMITTED.

Although we do not refund race entries under any circumstances, all entries are fully transferable up to 72 hours before race start. 

17. ROUTE CHANGES / AMENDMENTS.

Routes are +/- 10% of advertised distance, subject to any unforeseen circumstances which we will do our best to avoid. Race Director reserves the right to amend the race course for the best interest of the runners. Runners will be notified of final approved race routes via pre-race email no less than 10 days prior to race day.

18. SHORT CUTTING THE COURSE NOT PERMITTED.

Needless to say, runners found to be cutting the race course will be disqualified.

19. STARTING & CUT-OFF TIMES.

Late runners will be allowed to start up to 15 minutes after official starting times. Runners showing up later than this will be marked as DNS (Did Not Start). Cut-off times are generous for all GreenRace events allowing for up to 16 min/km average pace. For safety reasons and due to the fact our events are still in fact RACES, we must enforce official cut-off times for each event. Runners not completing within their respective race cut-off times will be automatically marked as DNF (Did Not Finish) in the official race results. It is the runners’ responsibility to make their way back to the Start/Finish for bag collection if they DNF. The starting and cut-off times are listed here.

20. TEAMS / PAIRS.

Teams: Male, Female and Mixed teams are available wherever ‘team’ is listed.

  • All teams must start together, scan in at each checkpoint together, and cross the finish line together.
  • Solo runners registering under team categories will be automatically disqualified.

23. BEST SPORTSMANSHIP.

Please be reminded to exercise good sportsmanship at all times and never leave a runner down.
